Irish journalists & the World Bank

This is a video of a badass Irish journalist, Vincent Brown, a few weeks back destroying a bankers ambiguous political bullshit surrounding the payment of euros to the defunct European banks that were not assisting Ireland in any way as I understand.   Greece is also rumored to be defaulting very soon unfortunately… the EU already released a statement saying they wouldn’t be helping them, so I doubt their debt is helping Greece. I read that this week the Irish have been told by Olli Rehn “pacta sunt servanda”! (honour your commitments and obligations in Latin) this was a few weeks ago and now every household is being ordered to pay 100 euros by the end of the month, coincidentally when 3.1BILLION euros are due to be paid to bond holders.  I’m aware I’m American so please correct me if I’m wrong on anything about the EU.

Yes, Ireland did join the European Union but honestly did they really have a choice? That woman(Barbra Nolan) and Klaus Masuch’s stupid smirks, basically “yup, you’re fucked AGAIN Ireland ha”  This makes me really sad as more than half of my blood is Irish and I have a strong pull to the country, culture and people even though I’ve never been there…  but knowing the Irish, they’ll pull through.  It’s unfortunate that like so many other islands they have been faced time and time again with tragedy, during the famine my great-great grandmother escaped with jewels sewn into her petticoats, she was around my age.  We also seem to forget in America the Irish were once discriminated against in a similar fashion to present day immigrants, a interesting article on how their race became to be viewed as “white” in American history… http://www.pitt.edu/~hirtle/uujec/white.html

As for news on the banking front in general and at home, today the white house released a video of President Obama discussing “his nomination of Jim Yong Kim, a physician, anthropologist, co-founder of Partners in Health, and leader of the WHO HIV/AIDS campaign, to be President of the World Bank. March 23, 2012.”  The former leader of the World Bank 5 years resigned very recently, along with an astonishing array of important world leaders, politicians, CEOs, and bankers recently.  Jim Yong Kim seems like a decent enough guy, from what Obama says anyway, but we shouldn’t have a World Bank in my opinion, especially that in the presidents words “is not just a bank.”

The UN is in talks of a global automatic gun ban supposedly and a North American currency.  Um, HELLO?!  Look at the fucking Euro!

Anyway, my support goes out to the Irish people & every man woman and child who is opressed and silenced in the world.  There is full on genocide of the Tibetan peoples going on by the Chinese government, and it doesn’t really seem like anyone gives a shit about that… I never hear about it anyway, though I’m sure most of it is being suppressed.  Then again, the news is so saturated in death nowadays (locally as well…) even more so.  I wrote a brief article about the self immolation protests going on awhile back…sacrifice where the sun rises

My rambling news of the day.  But I truly believe we can all come together, especially all those that speak the same tongue.  There seems to be a consensus, of America, Canada, and the UK that we the people are fed up.  Protests I see around the world speak of the same.  I really believe that no matter how strong, invisible, and omnipresent the corrupt powers of the world may seem, that eventually truth will prevail.  But it cannot unless we are open to it, remaining blissfully ignorant will be our downfall.

Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.
– Thomas Jefferson (I believe he is speaking of Minerva, Roman goddess of wisdom in a symbolic sense as the founding fathers portrayed these gods as the traits they wished to build our country on, shown in the “Apotheosis of George Washington” mural found on the ceiling of the US Capitol. If you haven’t seen a picture, look at it…very interesting.)
